Wavefront Lasek/Lasik -no hidden extra costs, no pricing by prescription

  • The cost of bilateral laser treatment is €3990 for treatments (€1995 per eye) but
  • There is a 52% discount for a special Groupon internet offer in May 2013 (reducing the cost  to €1899 for full laser surgical treatment of both eyes ( Wavefront Lasik and Lasek inc of all costs,medications,surgeries and aftercare)
  • All Patients can claim an additional 20% tax relief rebate (€380) in january 2014 thus
  • the  net cost after tax rebate is for all Internet Groupon patients is only  €1519
  • Price includes pre-op consultation with our Consultant Surgeon, all laser surgery, medication and all necessary post-operative consultations visits ( 5 ) with our Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for the following 6 months.
    • Additional and future follow-up visits are charged €80 per visit
  • We offer a Lifetime Care Guarantee - we are always happy to see our patients anytime. There is no fee for enhancement surgery during the contract period .Age-related refractive changes are considered sympathetically and there are no additional fees or costs incurred by our patients where possible

  • Optilase and Optical Express prices are not advertised correctly , pricing by prescription is deceptive and final quotations for both eyes is frequently over €3300 ( despite advertising €495 per eye). Patients who fit in this category generally do not get hardly any benefit as the prescription is so small ( less than 1 Dioptre )
  • Blackrock Clinic charges aproximatly €3390 and there may be additional costs for subsequent enhancement surgery

Comprehensive Consultant Eye Examination

  • This examination checks the health of the eye for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration. and costs €100
  • It may be necessary to dilate (enlarge) the pupil with drops to examine the retina fully and this may blur your vision slightly for several hours so please bear this in mind if you intend to drive soon after the examination
  • Patients with Private Health insurance (VHI Laya Healthcare Aviva ) may be entitled to a rebate for all or part of this fee from their insurance company depending on the level of cover, e.g. VHI healthcare plan B entitles you to a rebate of €51 per consultant visit. Please check your cover with your insurance company so we can minimize your costs.
