The LaserVision Eye Clinic only employs surgeons who have Specialist Registration in Ophthalmic Surgery with The Irish Medical Council and reside in Ireland. They are therefore always available for aftercare and emergency urgent care. Our surgeons are actively involved in further research and training.
Mr John Fenton FRCSI
Diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Retinal and Refractive Surgeon
Mr Fenton was awarded a scholarship to study medicine at the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin where he graduated in 1989. He trained at the Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin initially, before doing his advanced training at the New York State University, in Brooklyn, New York where he became US Board Certified in ophthalmic surgery in 1998. He then did a fellowship in vitreo-retinal surgery at Louisiana State University New Orleans, where he trained with Professor G. Peyman, an internationally recognised expert on diabetic laser eye surgery, before returning to Ireland as a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the Bons Secours Hospital, Tralee. He has also worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the NHS.
Mr Fenton has extensive experience in cataract, retinal and refractive surgery and is a member of both the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published research papers in retinal surgery and is actively involved in refractive surgery research and training. He has performed over 4,000 refractive procedures at the LaserVision Eye Clinic in Dublin.
There are LaserVision Eye Clinics in Dublin and Belfast and Mr Fenton also takes consultations in Drogheda (Ardbryan Eye Clinic) and Clondalkin (Park West Clinic) as well as nationwide screening programmes for diabetic retinopathy. Whilst Mr Fenton's main areas of specialty are refractive, retinal and cataract surgery, he also treats all general ophthalmic conditions in his practice.
Dr. Anna Dyczkowska
Polish Ophthalmologist at LaserVision Eye Clinic
Dr. Dyczkowska graduated from the Medical Academy in Gdansk, Poland. Following her graduation, she commenced postgraduate practice at Prof. Michalowicz's Clinical Hospital in Warsaw. In addition, she started working as a co-operative surgical assistant at the Ophthalmology Clinic at Prof. Orlowski's Hospital in Warsaw. She worked there until 2007 obtaining a Senior Assistant title and II degree of specialization in Ophthalmology.
Since September 2007, Dr. Dyczkowska has been residing in Dublin. She at first worked for a private Medical Practice ZDROVA and later MEDICUS.
Dr. Dyczkowska has recently started to work with LaserVision due to an increase of interest from Polish and other Central/Eastern European communities. She has assisted Mr. John Fenton FRCSI in numerous surgeries. Her main areas of interest are laser refractive surgery and glaucoma prophylaxis. She is al available as an independent expert for individual patient consultations
Dr. Dyczkowska speaks fluent Polish, English and Russian.
